Friend O' Meter

Labels: , ,

I remember back in the days when we became high school freshmen, it was tense, everyone wanted to act cool and tough, though deep inside all of us were quite fidgety at the moment, for most of us it was the first time to be away from our parents,(Seminary) Well as time passed , some got along, others didn't , everyone of us for at least one time fought not only with our fists but with our humongous ego, we had groups that hangout and each one thought they were right and cool, well to make my point shorter, in the end,? We all became friends and we treat each other as brothers in blood, up to now we gather every year, celebrate, drink and catch up, we share our problems and mourn with each other. I can truly say,we are family.
you see , you can never truly call someone your friend if the two of you have never fought, to see each others ugly side , how you repair that tarnished relationship back either to the way it was or maybe stronger, to test that bond over the years, up to how much pressure can it take? If that friendship somehow finds its way back, then I tell you my friend that is someone you should keep.
- For my brothers, in my greatest time of need, all of you were always there, either physically or emotionally, and you never cease to disappoint, we may have other friends but our love will never end. Till death do us part

What I'm feeling? is this Wrong?

I'm happy, no worries , hakuna matata, when actually i should be stressed , sad and  wallowing in tears , yet i try to budge off all those thoughts all those whispers in my ear, i only live once..i might as well make the best of it.

I might die tomorrow, the next week or the week after that , no one can tell, they say that people who are diagnosed with a terminal disease is still, in a way lucky, for they know when they will leave, so that they can prepare everything. to say their final farewells...
I have dreams and ambition , people judge me because they think i don't take life seriously, they don't know that's it's already serious , i just want to smile & enjoy even the smallest blessings, i don't want to appear weak,

i maybe blessed in some other ways but what you look for is always what's missing

As we grow old we gain responsibilities, these responsibilities won't go away, they pile up as we go on.. all the playing, drinking , and happy go lucky attitude can no longer be tolerated, we can't be teenagers forever no matter how hard we fight it off, if given a chance? everyone would choose to remain teenagers forever! think about it? all the fun, drinking, careless days lying around when your bored? no worries whatsoever. plus you don't worry about money that much,I feel pity to those people who didn't enjoy their teenage years or their college life, but don't get me wrong, you can still enjoy even if your studying hard just get your priorities straight, (i should have done that) don't wait for that moment in time when you ask yourself what could have been, it only means your doubting the way you lived your life .

That's why it's important to do what you love as a living, there is nothing more achieving in you professional journey than to love your job. no one forces you to work hecK!there may be even overtime. "growing old is inevitable, growing up is on option" so you're blessed if you love what your doing, and being a like a teenager at that! ;)

if you want to be successful then you have to move, if you have ideas just don't let them be mere imaginary achievements, ideas are like matches, they're only useful once you light them.

Popes Gone Wild: What the Catholic Church Would Rather You Forget

Labels: , ,

Pope Alexander VI

The man pictured above is the poster boy for Catholic debauchery. His name was Pope Alexander VI. He wasn’t the first, nor the last, of a string of simply sinful popes. In fact if he had a trading card the back might read something like this:

“Achievements: Successfully started the world’s first recorded crime family, sired at least four bastard children, hosted orgies within the walls of the Vatican, and shunned the poor in favor of flamboyant decadence.

Good Qualities: Severe loyalty to kith and kin (even to the point of almost plunging Italy into all out war just so his bastard children could have the life he wanted for them. Awe.)

Scandals: Still being accused of breaking up his daughter’s marriage in favor if an incestuous relationship with himself, whispered to be involved in a few choice assassinations, and oh yes, there was that whole mistress and string of wild Vatican orgy parties…

God’s Judgment: Death by slow intestinal bleeding.”

Charming guy that pope Alexander VI. Rumor has it his entire bastard clan were murderous and drunk on power. And so the love spread, long after his death. Just the fact he wasn’t stabbed or poisoned is a small miracle in itself. I’m just using him to illustrate a point. The papacy is full of scandals, rife for the pages of Catholic Inquirer.

More Papal Oopsies

Pope Stephen VI
was probably the perpetrator of the most bizarre event in papal history. After being elected to be pope he had his predecessor exhumed from his grave, brought into court, and tried for various crimes. The corpse was unsurprisingly found guilty as sin and his three blessing fingers were hacked off as punishment. He was then reburied before he was dug up once again in order to be thrown into the Tiber. Forgiveness anyone?

Pope John XII
didn’t even have a good start. He was said to have been born to a fourteen year old mother, sired by a man who was both his father and grandfather. Never one to shun tradition he continued this Oedipal cycle of dysfunction and also took his mother on as a lover. He was only eighteen when he became pope and only twenty-seven when he left it, by way of death. Rumor has it he was murdered during a jealous rage when the husband of one of his mistresses walked in on them in bed. This would indeed be a fitting end to a pope who was such a womanizer he was have said to have violated virgins and widows alike and had so many women filing in and out of the Vatican that everyone said it had been turned into a brothel. Sex wasn’t his only downfall though; he was rumored to have murdered several people and was fond of hacking off his enemies limbs. Far from being a saint I think this pope was trying to reach a new record of depravity.

Pope Benedict IX:
Depending on what sources you believe Pope Benedict IX was given the papacy anywhere between eleven and twenty years of age. St. Peter Damian accused him of routinely screwing other men and his four legged friends amongst other crimes. Apparently that wasn’t even scratching the surface when it came to grievances thrust into his direction. Bishop Benno of Piacenza accused him of committing, “many vile adulteries and murders.” He was also accused of rape and murder by his eventual successor before he decided to be the first and only pope to bring the free market to the papacy, selling his position to his Godfather John Gratian.
Pope Boniface VIII decided to take the free market a bit further and was accused of simony (that’s accepting cash for appointing religious positions) in Dante’s infamous Divine Comedy. Though he was alive at the time he showed an uncharacteristic apathy and didn’t order Dante tortured, maimed, or killed. Lucky Dante!
Pope Urban II cowed France into attacking the Muslim world, throwing the region into five hundred years of religious warfare, which as you can see by the current day turned out remarkably well…

Pope Urban VI
is best remembered for his gratuitously violent nature. Like any true psychopath he was said to have complained when his enemies didn’t “scream loud enough” under torture. God apparently likes screaming more then He likes hymns.

Pope John XXII
was the first to persecute “witches.” Although he was the richest man in the entire world at the time he was still not happy with his lot in life. He deemed that all the “witches” and “heretics” could be accused after death and that all their land should be seized.

Pope Sixtus IV
authorized the Spanish Inquisition and all it’s various forms of torture to gently convince the Jews, Moors, and Heretics that Catholic love and compassion were the way to God. While all this was going on it’s rumored that Pope Sixtus IV was busy fathering children with his eldest sister and carrying on several bisexual relationships. Not surprisingly he was also said to have suffered from syphilis. God’s wrath? Maybe for him.

Pope Gregory XII
burned John Huss of Bohemia at the stake after declaring his safety from such a fate. His crime? He spoke out against papal corruption. The pope’s response? “When dealing with heretics, one is not obligated to keep his word.”

Pope John XXIII
reigned for five years (1410-1415) before he pissed off so many other Catholics that he was striped of his title and declared anti-pope. So what was so bad about this mobsteresque pope? For one he decided to terrorize the students at the University of Bologna by demanding they pay a price to be protected from violent thugs who just happened to be under his order. That’s not what earned him his anti-pope title though, that had to be credited to the accusations of murder, rape, sodomy, incest, and piracy.

Pope Urban XIII
struck up a friendship with a young Galileo which is probably what spared his life later on when the pope tried him for heresy. Galileo was sentenced to life imprisonment which was later changed into house arrest. He died nine years later still under house arrest for claiming that a spherical earth revolved around the sun. This decree of heresy was not lifted until 350 years later.

Pius XII
reputation comes from his lack of action rather then from anything he did personally. He was the pope during Hitler’s reign of terror and didn’t so much as speak one direct harsh word about the man who was slaughtering millions. Hitler was Catholic after all and never antagonized the papacy (which is apparently the one way to get excommunicated.) His continuing refusal to say anything against the Nazi party lasted throughout the war with lame excuses being put forth behind the reasoning as to why this was. He claimed he would not decry any individual atrocities publicly and when faced with the Holocaust he merely claimed there wasn’t enough evidence it was actually happening. Perhaps he was afraid of pissing off a people who could easily kill him. But then again, for someone who is supposed to be the closest man to God his moral senses should have outweighed any thought of self-preservation. After all Jesus didn’t seem particularly keen on pussyfooting around the corrupt people of his era. Catholicism and Christianity love martyrs!

Pope John Paul II
, our current pope, was also part of Hitler’s Youth. This would probably disqualify him for political positions if he went that route instead of the papacy. Though he’s publicly condemned all forms of birth control and gay marriage, his only reaction to the pedophile priest scandals was merely to issue a feeble apology for 2000 years worth of pedophile church swapping, record burying, and secret payoffs to families for not denouncing the church publicly. He never condemned the behavior and only started defrocking priests when the masses started to put intense pressure on him to do so. Even so not that many priests were let go compared to what are likely out there. Apparently pedophilia is a more forgivable sin then birth control.

Noynoy Aquino’s classmate reveals all!

Dear ABS-CBN,

I fear that most of my countrymen will be voting for either Noynoy or Manny.

In which case, I want to know what my countrymen are getting me into and so, I would like to request that you guys get a reporter or two (it doesn’t have to be Ces Drilon or another one of your major assets) to ask Noynoy’s former classmates about him.

Here’s the comment, urging me to share information revealed by one of Noynoy’s classmates:

I saw this in a forum, this was written by a former classmate of Noynoy in Ateneo.. if you can share make this a note so para malaman ng maraming tao talaga kung sino si Noynoy

We were classmates at the Ateneo and I have no doubt that you would remember me even if we were not close. Hint: I was one of those who ribbed you about the low grade that Fr. Kreutz gave you in math because you could never seem to get your fractions right. Remember going ballistic over that ribbing?

Anyway, reading the psychological report that was posted on the Internet a few days ago certainly made me remember you. I heard you say on the news that the report was fake but you did admit that there were some things in it that were true. “Part truths” I think were your exact words. It fascinated me enough to want to read the report carefully to check out which were those things that were true. … See More… See More

Obvious things first, those facts that any of our classmates can confirm if asked. One of these is, as the report says, you have a labile disorder. This is whole truth. Even Fr. Gorospe would be distracted by your drooling during our oral exams. Fr. Ferriols, who made a point of showing he didn’t like you, would make side comments about it that led your classmates to give you the nickname “Cooper,” a reference to Cupertino school where we would teach Catechism to retarded children. I, however, never called you Cooper…. See More

The report says that you have a “major depressive disorder.” Well, I honestly don’t know if that is true. What I do know is that in school you were very temperamental and had sudden mood swings. Isang minuto, nakikikain ka kay brudda francis, maya’t maya nagagalit ka na. Many of our classmates can attest to witnessing scenes like this.

The report said that you used to go with your mom to see Dr. Manuel Escudero. That is a whole truth. I remember seeing you at Tito Maning’s high rise apartment on Roxas Boulevard when we were still kids. Tito Maning was a consultant with the WHO here in Manila but he was also a psychiatrist who treated only the high society people in Manila. Even Imelda Marcos was his patient. Unfortunately, so was my mom who suffered from insecurities due to my dad’s numerous infidelities. Tito Maning’s wife, Tita Jo, was a very good artist who had a couple of exhibits of her work before they left Manila for good a few years after martial law was declared. They lived in Topeka, Kansas. After they left, I kept a correspondence for a while with their very cute daughter Nina who I am sure you remember. I had such a crush on her. Maybe you did too. She used to talk to us “little folk” in the sala of their apartment while the “big folk” would lock themselves in the room and discuss “big folk” matters. She wanted to go to ballet school or some dance school which she did, I think, and I eventually lost track of her.

About your smoking marijuana, I also can’t say if that is wholly true. What I do know is that you would try to tag along with a group of students that would hang out with Ma’am Gloria Arroyo. Mga students niya sa Economics. She was always surrounded by bright and handsome students kaya hindi ka pinapansin. Pati si Ma’am Placer, she never gave you the time of day kasi people said you were “medyo weird” and your grades were mababa per her standards. Pero, you still tried to hang out with those guys. Trying hard to belong ba. I know those guys would drink na kasama pa si Miss Rosales na pag lasing na, kumakanta ng Spanish songs in Spanish. They would drink dozens of bottles of beer at Shakey’s Katipunan because Mrs. Ramos (our Spanish teacher in case you don’t remember) owned the restaurant. This group was also known to also smoke joints in the college auditorium, up in the closed space where the spotlights were. So, if you were hanging out with them then, you were probably also smoking marijuana too.

We cannot change the cards that we are dealt with, it’s how we play the game.

THE THINKER

Labels: ,

I remembered something today, so I’m writing it so I can get back to sleep, There was one episode in House M.D When Dr. Foreman (the black doctor) had a patient who was a total junkie, lost all self respect and control over her addiction, all she wanted in life was to get high, Dr. foreman treated her with less care than what the profession as a doctor demanded. He thought that if this person doesn’t even care about her life then why should we? There are millions of people who care enough to pull their life back together, they deserve a second chance, this person doesn’t, the junkie noticing this said to him “just because you’re a doctor and I’m an addict doesn’t make you better than me, You and I are not that different, the only difference is you made good decisions and I didn’t”

Again, for me this reallytrue yet so frustrating. Our actions of course has related consequences, which is a fact, it even has a law in physics, but what if our decisions was somehow influenced by spontaneous variables? It’s easy to decide to be law abiding, god fearing and such, but what if you were forced to make a decision because of certain uncontrolled variables? (Environment, peer pressure, finance, religion, family expectations, morality etc) all these play parts in our lives. But of course decisions are influenced from what we feel and what situation we are in, but how did we get there in the first place? If a building was on fire, naturally your decision would be to get the hell outta there! But if you have a friend, a family member inside that building you wouldn’t right? You would check first try to see if their safe, or if you’re just self centered, you leave them to die. Or maybe you just can’t risk your life because you have a family to feed. This outweighs the risk involved. From this example alone, there are 5 variables, family, finance, environment, religion or moral belief (morality) actually more if you think deeper.

Those (what if’s) until today haunt me, and I know I’m not the only one, what if I followed my parents advice? What if I studied a little harder? What if I realized this a little sooner? What If I said yes? What if I said no? What if I didn’t let her/him go? These minor decisions sometimes affect our life in a major way, the so called “Butterfly effect”.

But how can we say that what we chose was right or wrong? Sometimes it may seem right, but then you realize it isn’t, it may seem wrong now, but what if it isn’t?

How Manny Villar lied and used the death of his brother Danny

Labels: , ,

AS I WRECK THIS CHAIR By William M. Esposo (The Philippine Star) Updated March 28, 2010 12:00 AM

“Nakaranas na ba kayong … mamatayan ng kapatid dahil wala kang pera pangpagamot (Have you experienced losing a brother because you did not have the money to provide him proper medical care)? — Manny Villar asked in his “PANATA (Advocacy)” TV commercial. Villar was referring to his younger brother Danny who passed away on October 1962. In the same commercial, Villar’s 1962 photo with his younger brother was shown.
This portrayal of being poor once upon a time is a fantasy which comes in a series of similar attempts by Villar to create empathy with the nearly 90% of voters who belong to the socio-economic classes D and E. However, this particular attempt to use his late brother Danny to further his political ambition showed that Villar is as capable of lying just like Madame Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (GMA).
Two public documents — the death certificate of Danny B. Villar and the Transfer Certificate of Title (TCT number: 135396/3194) of the 560 square meter property in the upper class San Rafael Village of Navotas where the Villars had lived when Danny died — shattered this ONCE POOR fantasy that Villar has been peddling.
What the San Rafael Village TCT presents:

1. Before 1962, the Villars bought 560 square meters (SQM) of high valued real estate on Bernardo Street in San Rafael Village where the more affluent folks in the Tondo-Navotas area resided.

2. The DEATH CERTIFICATE of the deceased Danny B. Villar established that they were already residing there in 1962.

3. Based on 2009 prices, the P16,000 GSIS (Government Service Insurance System) mortgage mentioned in the TCT — not necessarily the total cost of the two 280 SQM lots — is now the equivalent of P1,140,000.00. Poor people today cannot even borrow P200,000. Those who are familiar with the subdivision say that the cost per SQM in San Rafael Village today would be around P10,000 per SQM or an equivalent of around P5,600,000 for the entire property.

4. Jun Borres, the present owner who is using the 560 SQM property as offices of his firm, Jumbo Fishing, stated that when they bought it in 1987 - it had a one and a half floor house. The ground floor was made of concrete while the upstairs was made of wood. This was typical upper middle class and upper class dwelling in the 1960s.

Implications of the San Rafael Village ownership

1. Together with established Manny Villar bio information, they could not have been dirt poor to be able to move to San Rafael Village before 1962. His mother was a seafood (shrimp, crab and fish) dealer in Divisoria Market, not a fish vendor as what Villar tries to project. A seafood dealer supplies the vendors. For a family of 11, they ate canned corned beef — which Manny Villar admitted on his earlier TV ad. His father was a government official, said to be a Budget Officer of the then DANR (Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources) under which was the Fisheries Bureau. Manny Villar studied in private schools — the Holy Child Catholic School for elementary and Mapua Institute of Technology for High School. Poor folks send their kids to public schools.

2. Villar’s parents must have had a sizeable combined income to be able to buy the San Rafael Village property. The 560 SQM size demonstrates their financial capacity. If they could, poor people buy lots sized less than 100 SQMs. Villar’s father must also be making a sizeable income from the government to be able to borrow P16,000 from the GSIS. In 1962, senior executives in big corporations made monthly salaries of about P2,000.
What Danny B. Villar’s DEATH CERTIFICATE reveals:

1. It is NOT TRUE that Danny died because they were poor and could not afford proper health care. The stated residence in Danny’s death certificate was the San Rafael Village property.

2. The BIG LIE is further proved by the fact that Danny stayed 13 days at the FEU (Far Eastern University) Hospital where he expired at age 3 years and 8 months. If they were really poor, the PGH (Philippine General Hospital) would have been the affordable hospital to bring Danny. He was definitely given proper health care. FEU Hospital was one of the top hospitals in 1962, before the establishment of the Makati Medical Center and St. Luke’s Hospital.

3. Danny died from CARDIAC and RESPIRATORY FAILURE resulting from COMPLICATIONS OF LEUKEMIA. In 1962, there was no bone marrow transplantation and chemotherapy yet and everyone whether rich or poor died from contracting leukemia.

4. Upon Danny’s death, his remains were turned over to LA FUNERARIA PAZ — then, until now, considered one of the top two mortuaries (Funeraria Nacional, the other). This further disproved Manny Villar’s claim that Danny died because they did not have the money to take care of him.
When Iggy Arroyo was seen as having taken the Jose Pidal rap for his elder brother Mike, many folks felt that it was rather low of Mike Arroyo to place his younger brother at risk. Our culture expects the older brother to protect the younger brother.
In that regard, we can consider Manny Villar as having done worse than Mike Arroyo. At least, Iggy Arroyo was alive and kicking and he could have opted to stay out of the Jose Pidal controversy. But in the case of Manny and Danny Villar, Danny was used to promote a myth when Danny was in no position to agree to his elder brother Manny’s portrayal of his death.
With the propagation of this ONCE POOR fantasy, don’t you think that Manny Villar also desecrated the memory and honor of his parents who strove to be able to provide their children quality education and an upper class domicile?
If Manny Villar can lie and use his dead younger brother like this, what makes you think that he will really improve and not worsen your life? What makes you think that he is not as greedy as he is being charged in this presidential campaign? What makes you think that you can trust Manny Villar?

Lesson Learned

I watched the Sit-com “Scrubs” the other day, (season 9) well, what’s new is that JD,TURK etc are no longer in sacred heart hospital, they transferred to Winston University where they teach and still are doctors, well the story now revolves around the lives and struggles of New Med students who somewhat resembles the old characters of the original scrubs, in every end of the episode there would always be lessons more on life than a of life of a doctor

Well on that particular episode, A med student was complaining on how selfish and devious all the fellow med students were no one was giving anyone a hand, all kept for themselves, “to keep yourself on top one must push off the others that climbs on the top, there is only room for one person in a tip” that was their motto, were not in highschool, this is no longer college, you can’t always have someone having your back carrying you all the way, we handle the future of people here everyday. their lives are at our stake that is reality and it’s not something to be taken lightly. you must be ready to face a scenario where no one is helping you, no chief doctor to tell you what to do,no nurse,no assistant. just you and your patient. that’s why we should never rely on others, we must always be ready . if you can’t handle that pressure then this is not the place for you.

My grandma said something today that made to think and smile, ” the world is a big stage, and everyone plays a part ” I wonder what’s mine? and how do I get the part? do i have to audition? are there judges? ( Hope Simon cowell ain’t one of them ) but there can i only be a handful of stars right? even though there may be some excelling in their field someone has to play those parts that we seldom pay any attention to, the guard, the peasant who died , the chemistry teacher who suddenly burst into flames and had her ashes peed at, (okay that doesn’t normally happen in theaters, just wishful thinking :) ) or sometimes the people who are merely passerbys at a scene, But there are no small roles , nothing is insignificant , or so they say , that’s just a courtesy speech to heighten the morale of the directors ” “troops”. we have to face reality, that sometimes life ain’t fair , but that is life after all,. you can’t always get what you want, there won’t be any excitement then.we just have to play the cards we are dealt with right, ? tell me I’m right… oh yeah and by the way , my role now is that I’m the charming prince fighting an evil witch named Beabitch and his Dog Alexus, (poor dog , got caught in the crossfire, ) but seriously , When will we know our part here?
